🚀 Interested in Research Opportunities at Stan State?
Merced College students are invited to a special Cal-Bridge FAST (CB-FAST) information session with faculty from California State University, Stanislaus!
Faculty from Stan State will be visiting Merced College to introduce students to the Cal-Bridge FAST program and talk about opportunities to get involved in research at Stan State.
📅 Join Us!
Thursday, September 24, 2026
3:30 PM
MESA Center – Science 201, Merced College
This is a great opportunity for Computer Science, MESA, CAHSI, STEM, and other interested students to meet Stan State professors, learn about research opportunities, and ask questions directly.
You’ll have a chance to learn about:
- 🔬 Undergraduate research opportunities at Stan State
- 🌉 The Cal-Bridge FAST program and how it can help community college students
- 🎓 Pathways from Merced College to a four-year university
- 💻 Opportunities in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and other STEM areas
- 🤝 How to connect with faculty and become involved in research
💰 This is a PAID opportunity!
Students accepted into the Cal-Bridge FAST Workshop receive a stipend for participating, and lunch is provided during the five-day workshop.
Students who successfully complete the workshop are then eligible to apply for the 8-week Cal-Bridge FAST Summer research program. Summer researchers receive a competitive stipend as well as local travel expenses while conducting real research with CSU faculty.
This is an excellent opportunity to get paid while building research experience, meet university faculty, strengthen your transfer and graduate-school preparation, and find out whether research might be something you’d like to pursue.
Our CS CAHSI Club will meet at the MESA Center that day instead of our regular location, so club members should come directly to Science 201 at 3:30 PM.
Even if you’re not sure yet whether research or transferring to Stan State is in your plans, come meet the faculty and find out what opportunities are available to you!
Hope to see you there! 🚀
