UC Merced Drive Thru Tours!

Dear Campus Community,

Because the county and much of the state remain in a stricter tier of activity and traditional campus tours are off-limits, the cross-divisional team working on ensuring we meet our Fall 2021 recruitment targets has developed a new, contactless method of conducting campus tours: Drive Thru Tours.

Beginning this week and on a rolling basis, prospective students and their family members will be able to tour the campus from the safety of their cars, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tours will begin with a health check and then consist of stopping at various key points around campus to view the surroundings and watch a brief video about each designated location.  As case rates continue to decline and we prepare to move into less restrictive tiers, the Drive Thru tour will provide a fun and interactive way for future Bobcats to get a feel for the campus without compromising the rigorous health and safety standards that everyone active on campus has worked so diligently to uphold.

We ask for your support in helping to create both a welcoming and a safe environment while the tours are in session. Our guests have been informed that the interior of buildings will not be accessible, so please don’t open doors or offer an insider tour. However, do take a moment to wave, smile and show off that Bobcat pride.

Many thanks to the yield team, a cross-divisional collaboration between Student Affairs and External Relations, who have spent countless hours working through strategies to reach and engage future students during this challenging time in higher education, and many thanks to the entire campus community for supporting this critical work.
#GoBobcats!

Sincerely,
