Angelica Walker: Merced College, UC Merced student and NASA intern

Previously was an NCAS student. I did the 5 weeks online learning, then spent a week onsite to Ames research center 2019 where my team won first place in the robotics competition.https://www.nasa.gov/stem/murep/projects/ncas.html

Pathways is a co-op program, where the student does at minimum three internships/work tours full-time then after graduation offers a chance for permanent employment at the agency.

Currently a NASA Pathways Intern at Johnson Space Center. My first tour (January2021- May 2021) was in BG: International Space Station Procurement Office and currently (May 2021-July2021) in LG: Funds Accounting and Control Team. Both tours will be virtual, however for my next tour (summer 2022) I will be onsite in Texas.

Typical day is keeping NASA’s books balanced and finances in check, trainings, and volunteering for intern side projects like holding NASA on Campus events (held one for UC Merced Vanguard Engineering Society and Merced High School) and Helping with the intern video chat series.
