¡Valle! Get your start in Tech
Are you or a student you know interested in tech, professional development, or research? Do you know a student interested in exploring technology? At CITRIS, we say technology is everywhere and it’s never too early to get your start.
Now in its third year, ¡Valle! Get your start in Tech is a Google Research exploreCSR program designed to provide students with mentoring, tech skills, and networking opportunities. Open to all STEM undergraduate (community college and university) students going to school in California’s Central Valley. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and includes Psychology, Agriculture, Computer Science and much more.
Some activities to look forward to as a participating student are:
* 4 thoughtful sessions held on Fridays for one hour via zoom: 2/4, 2/11, 3/4, 3/11/2022,
* In-person, 48-hour retreat on Presidents’ Day three-day weekend: February 19 – 21,
* Learn Google Earth Engine and build confidence in your skills,
* Access mentoring and networking with Google, NASA and graduate students and so much more!
From Silicon Valley to the Central Valley, ¡Valle! will help you to level up!
UCM student, CITRIS NexTech Robotics Educator, and Valle alum, Peter Sou said of the experience: “¡Valle! was a wonderful opportunity of growth for me. From developing soft skills, like my elevator pitch and updating resume, to learning technical skills, like Tensor Flow and Google Earth Engine, I was able to find more confidence in myself when applying for internships and eliminate my imposter syndrome.”
¡Valle! is currently accepting applications. The brief applications are due by December 5th, 2021. Please help us share this opportunity.
