Paid undergraduate summer research experience
Are you looking for a paid undergraduate summer research experience centered around space-based instrumentation for observing Earth and space? Check out the University of Iowa Edge of Space Summer School!
This immersive program will run for two weeks over the summer in Iowa City, Iowa. Students will be building small instrument payloads that will be integrated onto drone and high-altitude aerial platforms to take measurements of the Earth below and the atmosphere and space environment above. No prior experience in hardware, instrumentation, or electronics is necessary. This hands-on experience is designed for all students who have an interest in Earth, atmospheric, solar, and space science. Students are highly encouraged to apply.

Each student will receive:
- $500/week living expenses
- $100/week food expenses
- Free housing
- Round-trip travel expenses

We believe bringing together students from many disciplines, backgrounds, and parts of the country makes for a more interesting and educational summer experience.
